Join Midshore Riverkeepers Conservancy and Future Harvest CASA on a bus tour of 3 diverse farms that are utilizing practices and technologies to improve water quality and soil moisture. All farms will be located within the Choptank River watershed on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
Participants will tour farms that are showcasing bioreactors, phosphourous removal structures, water control structures and de-nitrification walls. Free registration includes bus travel and light refreshments throughout the day and is supported by a grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation.
You will learn from scientists and designers about how these practices function as well as from farmers about how these practices have improved their operations. NRCS (National Resource Conservation Service) representatives will also be able to answer additional questions about the resources available to implement these practices without breaking the bank!
